Is an Everglades airboat tour worth it?
Short answer: yes — for most visitors it’s a highlight. You glide across a unique wetland, almost certainly see wild alligators, and it’s an easy half-day from Miami or Fort Lauderdale. The honest caveats: the airboats are loud and a little touristy, the gator “shows” are theatrical, and summer is hot and buggy. Go in the dry season and it’s hard to beat.
Why it’s worth it
The Everglades is unlike anywhere else — a vast, shallow “river of grass” you can only really feel from the water. An airboat gets you out into it, close to wild alligators and wading birds, with a captain who knows where to look. For the price and the short drive from the city, the payoff is big.
